WM Tucker Excavating is a long-standing and reputable excavation company in middle Tennessee. They approached Truman Web seeking to improve their visibility on Google.
Challenges
Before collaborating with us, WM Tucker Excavation faced several challenges:
- They were nowhere to be found on Google when searching for excavators in the area. We searched page after page and the site was practically non-existent!
- Some of his competitors had fewer and worse reviews but still surpassed him in the local listing results.
- Very few visitors to his website
Solutions
Our team went to work identifying and fixing several problems.
- No one was maintaining the website, so all the plugins, themes, PHP, and WordPress versions were out of date. Google doesn’t like this.
- We identified hundreds of code errors and warnings the client was unaware of.
- The header was so large that it took Google too long to find the meaningful content quickly. So we simplified the header to make that easier for Google to find it.
- We created new content, shrunk the size of the images on the site, updated the ALT tags on the images, identified and implemented strategic keywords throughout the site, linked within the site more, created better header tags and new meta descriptions, sped up the site significantly, and fixed the SSL, as well as dozens of other code fixes.
Results
Our work resulted in WM Tucker’s site rising through Google search results within a matter of about a month, all the way to number 1!
